"The
Minister has still got it wrong!
Driving Instructors representatives agreed that it would be beneficial to
allow instructors to sit the Hazard Perception Test in order to give them
the experience of the tests their students have to sit. This had, hitherto,
been prevented by the Driving Standards Agency.
We did not, as Mr Jamieson still contends, agree that instructors need to
reach the standards set by the test indeed we made it very clear that the
standards required by of instructors in the real world are already well in
advance of the standards required by the virtual test.
The Minister must realise that he is responsible for the standards of
approved driving instructors. If he wishes to pursue the notion that he is
approving instructors without being satisfied that they can identify a
hazard then he must admit his incompetence and resign."
